Business Law Suit Trials
• Trial Victory for Franchise Seller in Breach of Contract Lawsuit
Defended the seller of a retail franchise, a small corporation, against allegations of fraud and breach of contract, several years after the sale of the franchise had been completed. Over the course of the two-week trial in LA Superior Court, we proved that the plaintiff's claims and seven-figure demand were unfounded. Mr. Ryu achieved a complete defense verdict, plus legal costs, for his business owner client.
• Manufacturing Partnership Dispute Ends in Trial Win for Our Client
Defended a Korean business owner in a dispute with his partner and a third- party vendor, who was a well-known serial litigator. This complex litigation required extensive investigation, forensic accounting and reconstruction of fact. Mr. Ryu presented clear evidence of the highly entangled, global business dealings, which revealed that the plaintiff fabricated evidence. Our arguments persuaded the judge to rule for our client and publicly admonish the plaintiff. When the plaintiff declared bankruptcy to avoid the judgment, Mr. Ryu forced dismissal of the bankruptcy and obtained the payment due his client.
